Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), is the medical use oxygen in a pressurized environment at a higher level than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). The increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve in the blood plasma and saturate it (independently of hemoglobin/red cells), which can have a wide range of positive physiological, biochemical, and cellular effects. This noninvasive therapy is the best way to increase oxygen levels in all organs. The treatment typically lasts 60-90 minutes. During this time, the patient lies down and continues to breathe normally.

HBOT has been demonstrated in several clinical studies to enhance the body’s innate ability to repair and regenerate. It is used as an adjunct therapy to complement and enhance the healing process in both chronic and acute conditions.
